Regarding AWS, spot instances are EC2 capacity resources that are available at a cheaper price than on-demand pricing. Depending on your requirement, you can request one-time or persistent spot instances. Whenever a spot instance request is interrupted, the provider automatically places another request to fulfill the requirement.
