Barracuda Cloud Security Guardian (CSG) is supplied as an agentless Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution designed to address the common issue of cloud security breaches caused by misconfigurations. It offers a comprehensive platform for Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), allowing enterprises to get end-to-end visibility and continuous control over their security posture across many cloud environments, with a focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

The platform's primary feature is around automated compliance and remediation. CSG conducts continuous, automated scans of the whole cloud infrastructure, including IaaS and PaaS services, to detect security vulnerabilities and policy violations. It includes pre-loaded policies based on significant industry and regulatory standards such as CIS Benchmarks, PCI DSS, NIST 800-53, and HIPAA, as well as support for bespoke rule sets. When a violation or "configuration drift" is detected, CSG sends instant alerts and, more importantly, provides one-click or automated remediation, which fixes the misconfiguration via API calls to enforce the defined security best practices, reducing friction between security teams and agile DevOps builders.
