Proton Drive

Proton Drive is a cloud storage service produced by Proton AG, the same Swiss firm that created Proton Mail and Proton VPN. It is deliberately designed to be a privacy-first alternative to conventional cloud providers such as Google Drive and Dropbox, targeting privacy-conscious individuals and enterprises. Its foundation is based on unwavering security and Swiss privacy regulations, which are among the strongest in the world, putting it outside the purview of the 5/9/14 Eyes Alliance.

End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) and Zero-Access Encryption are the platform's foundational technologies. Files, file names, and folder structures are encrypted on the user's device before being uploaded to the cloud, with established standards like as OpenPGP and sophisticated elliptic curve encryption. Crucially, only the user possesses the keys to decrypt the data, therefore Proton AG cannot access or read the saved files. This dedication to zero-access architecture protects user data even in the unlikely case of a server intrusion.
